Support
Support for EdGCM and the Educational Global Climate Modeling Project means a lot of different things to different users. There is support for the EdGCM software, support for the NASA Global Climate Model, support for educators trying to prepare educational materials for use with EdGCM, and support to help with the climate science that EdGCM makes possible for teachers to pursue.
That’s a big support requirement for the small group of people who run the EdGCM Project. We handle the load in several ways:
- We have electronic support forums, which are moderated by two climate scientists and the EdGCM developers. Questions on almost any EdGCM or climate-related topic can be asked in one of the forum sections. You must register (for free) to use the forum, but it’s your best support resource. Check it out at: http://forums.edgcm.columbia.edu
- There is a Frequently Asked Questions section available at the electronic forums website, and we are in the process of building a new FAQ here as well.
- There are video tutorials available to help people with the EdGCM basics.
- There are detailed manuals available for EdGCM and EVA, our visualization application.
Your last resort, of course, is to contact us. We’re happy to help if we can, but please try the other methods first.
